CAN I VISIT THE SOCIAL HOUND BEFORE I BRING MY DOG?
We love showing off our Dog Park and hotel. Please feel free to drop in, meet our staff and see our dog park from our live cameras.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND DAYCARE & THE HOTEL AT THE SOCIAL HOUND?
All clients must be treated with flea/tick prevention!
All clients must be 5 months or older. All baby teeth have to have fallen out, they are sharp.
To join daycare or board, all clients must be spayed or neutered ( 0r if waiting due to age we will discuss on a case to case basis depending on dog and breed ).

We do not offer hotel or daycare to aggressive dogs. Only dogs who have passed their evaluation and are up to date on shots will be allowed entrance.
Clients will be required to have a temperament evaluation— think of it as a simple introduction, which gives us an opportunity to meet and get to know your Dog. This helps us ensure the safety of all our clients. The safety of all dogs in our care is our goal and for that reason we have a ZERO aggression policy. If your dog is aggressive toward other dogs or our staff in daycare, they will be removed from group play until pick up time. Of course your Dog can still use The HOTEL portion of The Social Hound, but will be provided with leashed and supervised playtime. Your Dog will be leashed while in the presence of others. This is to ensure the safety of ALL our clients and staff.

At The Social Hound, we welcome pets with chronic medical condition requiring daily medication. However, all geriatric and chronically ill pets need to be in medically stable condition prior to boarding and owners should be able to provide appropriate medical records. Additional technician fee may apply.

WHAT IS AN EVALUATION?

This is when we have your hound come in for what is called “Their First Day At Camp.” When your hound comes in for their evaluation, they have to be here for a minimum of 6 hours just to make sure that there is no aggression, and also to ensure that they are relaxed, not overly stressed, and completely comfortable. There is a $25 fee for this first day of daycare for up to 6 hours. After 6 hours it will be a $30 full day fee.  Once your hound passes they can come and play and board with us anytime after.

WHAT VACCINATIONS DOES MY DOG NEED?
Please send a veterinarian certificate acknowledging proof of vaccination for Bordetella(KENNEL COUGH), DHPP(DISTEMPER) and Rabies. For dogs attending Daycare it is recommended the Bordetella vaccination be administered every 6 months, once a year is required. In order to ensure that your dog does not have any side effects to being vaccinated a 24-hour waiting period is required after the first dose of a vaccination given. Have your veterinary office email a copy to mysocialhounds@gmail.com

DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?
Yes, we ask that you call the day before to reserve a day care spot. We do accept walk-ins but we can’t guarantee that there will be an opening that day so we strongly recommend reservations.

HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?
Please call for an appointment to view our facility and register your dog. Click on client forms, fill out the required forms and submit completed forms via email to mysocialhounds@gmail.com or you may drop them off at the front desk PRIOR to your pets stay. You must have proof of vaccinations BEFORE you can attend the park play area.

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?
You need to fill out and sign required forms: GUEST PROFILE, SERVICE AGREEMENT and if your pet is not spayed or neutered due to age ( we evaluate this on a dog to dog basis) you must fill out the form at the front desk stating you take responsibility of the possible risk factors. Once your dog has been registered with us and has completed a social evaluation you are free to use any and all of our services at your discretion.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH MY DOG FOR OVERNIGHT STAYS?
Bring a leash, collar and food SEALED IN ZIP LOCK TYPE BAGS labeled with your dogs name and feeding instructions for your dog’s entire stay. Many dogs are sensitive to sudden dietary changes; we find that it’s best for owners to provide dogs’ regular food.

If you forget your dog’s food, we offer a variety of food that will be tailored to your pet’s specific needs at $5/meal. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGED ITEMS BY YOUR PET.

WILL YOU GIVE MY DOG MEDICATION WHILE I AM AWAY?
We can administer any non-injectable medication. Please make sure medication is clearly labeled with your Dog’s name as well as instructions for administration times. Please include peanut butter, cream cheese or pill pockets for your dogs medication.

WHAT IF MY DOG DOES NOT GET ALONG WITH OTHERS WHILE AT THE SOCIAL HOUND?
If your dog is not social, or requires one-on-one attention, for the safety of our guests, he or she is required to stay in a private suite and participate in private play sessions additional fees will apply. Please note that The Social Hound has sole discretion on whether dogs CAN take part in social activities.

ATTENTION ALL SOCIAL HOUNDS!!

We wanted to inform everyone that even after pursuing and implementing strict cleaning procedures as well as following strict vaccination screening protocols: CANINE COUGH (AKA any respiratory infection occurring in dogs) may still be transmitted in our or any facility that holds more than one dog at a time. All local Veterinary Doctors generally agree it is unavoidable that your dog may contract Kennel Cough at some point if you socialize and board your dog with other dogs.
If your dog presents himself with SNEEZING, COUGHING and/or VOMITTING:

  1. Call your vet and get your dog started on antibiotics and cough suppressant
  2. Call us to alert us when your dog was last here so we can alert others.
  3. Keep your dog away from other dogs 1-2 weeks after symptoms have subsided.

Rest assured we at The Social Hound are doing everything we can do present an ultra clean and safe environment for all Our social hounds.

IS THERE SOMEONE ALWAYS IN THE PARK WITH THEM?

Yes, we always have at least 2 people in the park monitoring and playing with your pets. In addition we have one person upfront working and always looking at the park cameras.
